Players Club
The Players Club at Amherst Country Club:
The Players Club was established by the Amherst Country Club to monitor and organize USGA Handicap services and all golf events held for its members at Amherst Country Club. The Players Club conducts events and Championships at Amherst Country Club and provides added prizes in the Golf Shop for events. A Hole-in-One bonus for members who score an Ace at Amherst Country Club within our playing season. We recommend having a USGA handicap. Establishing your handicap at Amherst Country Club allows you entry into all of our activities and championship events. Please join us for a round or two and determine if you would like to make Amherst Country Club your home course.
The benefits of membership in the Players Club include a USGA handicap, which allows scores to be entered at the club or at home via the Internet. Members can play in scheduled events throughout the season and are eligible to participate in the club divisions, Men's, Women's, Seniors and the Players Challenge. An awards celebration is held following the year-end Players Club Scramble.
Player's Club Divisions:
Men's Senior Division
The Men's Senior group welcomes men 55 years & older who enjoy 18 holes of friendly competition with fellow senior golfers. Play is scheduled at 9:00 am on weekday mornings throughout the season. Joining is easy and weekly participation is not required. All players are encouraged to establish a USGA handicap.
Players pay an initial fee of $20.00 to be placed into a roster and must have a USGA handicap at Amherst Country Club. Players call the Pro Shop at 603-673-9908 or sign-up in person prior to the day of play. From the sign-ups on any given day, teams are established by handicap and a friendly competition is played.
Tee times are reserved throughout the season, and players need only call in to be entered on a particular day. Teams are computer selected, formats vary and are posted monthly. Joining is easy and weekly participation is not required. The Men's Senior group offers reserved times for play and the opportunity to meet fellow senior golfers.
A committee will establish formats and basic guidelines for play and prizes will be distributed based on a team total for 18 holes. Join your fellow seniors for a day or two of golf at Amherst Country Club each week and learn to enjoy the golf course.
All fees are returned as prizes or support for year-end events. Complete details are published and distributed early in the season. The Senior weekday fee applies to all Senior group players. The Players Club sponsors an individual Senior Championship in August each year. Be a part of this group and enjoy the competition.
Women's Division
This group offers women the opportunity to compete in a weekly 18-hole event on Wednesday mornings, groups of four are paired by handicap for the friendly competitions. Amherst Country Club promotes women's golf and invites you to make us your "home" course. Joining is easy and weekly participation is not required. All players are encouraged to establish a USGA handicap.
A nominal entry fee is paid and pro shop prizes are awarded. Women may sign – up in advance of the day of play and are paired in fours according to USGA handicap. Tee times generally begin at 8 AM. The Players Club also conducts annual championships for Women’s Club Champion and Women’s Senior Champion. Check with the Pro Shop for details and sign up procedures for the Women’s Division. Joining is easy and weekly participation is not required.
Challenge Group
Played each Wednesday and Friday throughout the season. This group plays 18 holes in teams of four players. Players pay an initial fee of $20.00 to be entered on a roster and must have a current USGA handicap at Amherst Country Club. Guests with a current USGA Index may play in the challenge group but are not eligible for the year end events.
Tee times are reserved throughout the season, and players need only call in to be entered on a particular day. Team assignments and times are chosen at random and each team is made up on a A-B-C-D basis. Formats vary and are posted monthly. Joining is easy and weekly participation is not required.
The fee to play is $20.00 per event and team prizes are awarded for Front 9/Back 9 and 18 holes Team totals. A portion of each week's fee is set aside for a year end event. All sign-up fees and entry fees are returned in the form of cash prizes throughout the year and at the Final Challenge held in Ocotober. It is fun, it is competitive and it is easy to sign up. Complete details are published and distributed prior to the start of the season.
The Players Club at Ponemah Green:
Membership in the Players Club includes a USGA handicap, which allows scores to be entered at Ponemah Green or at home via the Internet. Members are invited to participate in the year-end combined Players Club Scramble held at Amherst Country Club.
